Every name is a life that no longer with us, every name is a dream that will never come true – enough with the genocide.
We cannot close our eyes to the shocking numbers of men, women and children, who are victims of the occupation and the war on Gaza.
While the Israeli public knows the names and faces of the murdered, the killed and the dead, and the kidnapped on the Israeli side, inconceivably, tens of thousands of the murdered and the dead, a million-and- half displaced persons in Gaza and the Israeli starvation policy, do not reach the public discourse. Many Israelis believe that there are no innocent people in Gaza.
We, Women of the Feminist Space, Palestinian and Jewish women living in Israel, seek to awaken the Israeli public to the destruction that is taking place in our name.
It took two banners, 150 meters long , to list the names of all 10,093 women and 15,239 children in Gaza who are no longer with us. The cruel policy that calls the loss of these lives “collateral damage” is a policy that is killing us. The babies, girls and children, the women whose names we wrote on the banners, all those who were buried alive at home, went to work as journalists, doctors, merchants, musicians, traders, and neverreturned, all those who fled from one bombed area to another and were ultimately killed, all these are not collateral damage, they are lives, dreams, destroyed.
Hadaya Shimon, a Palestinian writer and journalist from Gaza, wrote as follows: “I read the names of the children and women and my voice chokes, chokes.
Every name is a life
Any name is a home
Every name is a smile
Every name is a story
Disappeared.”
We will go out together, Palestinian and Jewish women, who refuse to close their eyes and ears, and remind Israelis, and the whole world, of the dreams that will no longer come true.
Fighting for our dream – A just peace for both nations here and now.
Stop the occupation – Stop the war- Stop the genocide
